EXPLORATION 01

Logo.

I'm trying to come up with a Stonefruit logo. I have all these notes and moodboards and pictures for inspo, but I don't have like the sense or skill to make a logo I love.

So like one does in 2026, I collected all the context and put it into Claude Code, and I asked it to generate me a logo, based on my inspo, using JavaScript. I had this idea because that's really how I learned to code in high school. I took APCSA and we worked in JavaScript all year. I think it was a great introduction to programming. However, of course, everything Claude spat out it was ass. It looked awful.

How I got here

But then I remembered a specific project we did that year in APCS. I don't remember the exact instructions, but basically, someone mapped all the data of Michael Jackson's white glove during one of his performances. So the project was to write a program that took in that data, and made something cool with it.

I couldn't tell you exactly what I did, and honestly I couldn't tell you then either, but at a high level, I used some loops to make the entire screen a grid of rectangle objects. I think I wrote some function that updated the color of each cell (and surrounding cells) as his hand passed through it. In hindsight, it had to have been some semi random addition and subtraction of the RGB values of the cell, something that allowed cells to continue changing as his hand passed through its coordinates multiple times.

The final product was kinda like a rainbow colored mosaic, but it was cool to watch. I got an A or a 100 on the project. I don't remember the exact grade, but it was definitely good, and definitely better than most of my other grades in the class.

Somewhat related, I was reading the book Antifragile (and Black Swan) by Nassim Nicholas Taleb, and he kinda made a point of randomness being good and necessary and often leading to favorable outcomes. Like he spoke about people leaving things up to the gods, or the stars, or coin tosses can help reduce, or increase, our exposure to overly negative or overly positive outcomes that we may not foresee. Almost that favorable outcomes can sometimes have emergent properties rather than ones that are predictable. So to maximize your chances, don't actually even seek out the favorable outcome, but try to engineer situations where they could emerge. i.e. Tinkering, trial and error.

So recalling above experiences, I gave Claude my notes, inspo and everything I think is cool. It told me to sign up for another tool. I then said:

God man I dont want to sign up for another tool... try java script again, this time MAX variance, min prescision, MAX context, MAX inspiration, try too complicated vector art, use complicated and experimental functions... just try to and be creative overly refferential but dont try to recraeate. I just gave you like my mosiac of how i see and think about the world and some things im inspired by. We can get somewhere.

After some iterations, below are some of the outcomes. We are not done yet but getting somewhere. Feel free to play around below. If you are able to make something I like and use, send it to me. I may give you some money.
